Working nights while pregnant?

Any other mommies work night shifts? I'm 19 weeks pregnant, and a TON of overnight hours just came open. We could really use the money,  and I'd like to take a few of the shifts.

I work with health homecare and would just be taking care of dementia patients, so it's not physically demanding.

I'm just afraid I won't be able to stay awake and want to make sure working nights won't hurt my baby.

Any suggestions from other ladies who have worked night shifts during pregnancy?

For me I work in a hospital and do a lot of one to ones so I normally have my phone and watch Netflix or surf the web to keep me busy

I work nights all the time I just finished up a 9 day stretch of just overnights and one of them was a 12 hr shift .. baby will be fine just make sure I get your rest and worst case scenario have a cup of coffee it won't hurt baby, I've been told it's ok to have one a day I normally drink a cup when I'm tired and falling asleep since for me I have a 5 year old and 20 month old at home sometimes I dont get the sleep I would like

I work nights as a nurse in a lockdown dementia facility and pretty much run my butt off all night long (50 beds and I'm the only nurse in the building). My pregnancy is going smoothly but I'd much rather be working days, especially since we have a 3-year-old. Learn to nap when you can during the day. It works great for some people, definitely bring a book and find your ways to keep you awake. Good luck!

I worked six days a week on nights and we were fine. As long as you get enough sleep during the day and eat good everything should be okay. Its just getting the sleeping during the day part down.

I worked night shift throughout my first pregnancy. Just make sure you are getting rest good, healthy foods. Those late nights can make you crave sugar and carbs! Baby will be fine. PS. i have a theory that working nights helps baby have a better sleep/wake cycle after birth. Many of my nurse friends agree as the physical movements of mom tend to make baby relax and sleep.

I'm doing that now, sleep and food is on my high demand list lol, sometimes I work 12 hrs from 11:30 pm to 12:00pm then I'll have to go in at 8:00pm to 8:00am, it's physically demanding but I sleep as much as I can, sometimes my baby isn't as active so I'm worried about that but after I get a good rest he's more active.

If you get your sleep still then It shouldn't hurt baby. Just make sure you are still getting the rest yoy need and don't over work yourself. The baby will go with your schedule.
