Worried I will be the lady that has her baby on the highway

I live about 45 minutes from the nearest hospital depending on traffic. With my last pregnancy I was only in labor for less than 2 hours, and contractions never lined up. 2 nurses ended up delivering my baby, but thank goodness they were experienced. Baby had her umbilical cord wrapped around her neck twice and as she was trying to come out on her own the cord was tightening. It was a bit traumatic when she was born blue and it took a bit to get her to breath. I then ended up hemorrhaging and lost a lot of blood. After all this, I am kinda freaked out about letting myself go into labor naturally because I am over thinking the "what if's". This is something I have to discuss with my doctor, but I am curious. Do any of you know if they will induce me this time around to avoid an even faster delivery and risk me not getting to the hospital?

I live almost 2 hours away from the hospital I will be delivering at. I definitely understand your worries and concern. Luckily with my first born we made it to the hospital with time to spare.

Mine will not induce unless your over your due date or something is medically wrong. I went for my 39 week check up and was told no. I'm due christmas and he still wouldn't induce so I could be home.

You can ask your doc to induce at 39 weeks one of the reasons my doc gave me a list of reasons they would induce and long distance to travel was one of them.

I live the same away from the hospital. I just plan on waiting until my contractions are far enough a part I can make it but close enough they won't send me home.
