When first taking zoloft are you supposed to feel a little more anxiety and different. Does this go away and get better?

The wellbutrin wasn't working so they switched me to Zoloft. I haven't noticed any changes so I quit taking it. I figure if the meds aren't working, then they're not supposed to. I think there's a difference between depression/anxiety and pregnancy hormones. However, I'm on disability right now for high risk pre-term labor so I feel I can wait it out. I drive a school bus so I would definitely make sure I was in the right frame of mind before returning to work.

Any anti depressant will take 4 weeks to reach max effectiveness.  You may have an increase in symptoms during this time and is normal. I had to come off Cymbalta (worst experience) to start Zoloft before we started trying.

Thanks bubblelicious1 but my question wasn't asking if i should take ant meds it was a question for the girls that battle with these problems and what their experiences with these meds.

What about prosaic?  Its more than depression for me. My anxiety has created terrible phobias for me. I'm also pasted my 1 trimester.

Gah! Hate that stuff! Took it for a month and it made me twitchy, and I felt crazy.
I'm going to give my insight, I don't know your situation, but this was my experience.
I slowly fell into a deep depression, it was so gradual I didn't notice how irrational, and miserable I'd gotten, until I started thinking about ending it.  I tried a number of anti depressants, all of which did nothing more than affect my brain and body in negative ways.  After six months of wondering if I'd ever be me again, a thought popped into my head "stop taking birth control, you idiot!" I'd been on yasmin for two years, so I stopped, and the grey clouds cleared and the sun was finally shining. I tried many different pills, all of which led to me feeling the same way.  After the trial and error, I also concluded it was mostly the progesterone in the pills.
So while waiting to get a copper IUD, I became pregnant, and with pregnancy comes sky high progesterone levels.  I kinda knew what to expect, and explained it to my SO, and he's been great.  I hate being pregnant, I'm miserable, weepy, depressed, and unpleasant to be around.

my theory on antidepressants, is they treat the symptoms (try to create more available serotonin) rather than the cause (what's causing this loss in serotonin) . But from my discussions with others, the conclusions seem to be that these brain altering drugs seem to do more harm than good, and are often overprescribed.
I think you should find a doctor that's easy to talk to, and perhaps try an alternative to antidepressants, especially when pregnant.  Being depressed caused me suicide ideation, but anti depressants caused me to act on it, and I think they can be very dangerous.

It takes about 2 weeks to fully work properly. And for you to feel its full effects. I took Zoloft once, and never took it again. It made me have strange and crazy thoughts. I didn't like the way it made me feel. Thoughts of killing & death. Never took another dose, & those thoughts and feelings went away. A ton of law suits were filed also by women prescribed Zoloft while pregnant. Their babies bring born with cleft palate and other defects/deformities. That's why I never took it until after I had my baby. But ended up throwing it out anyway.
