I also had an outbreak about 10 years ago i to was shocked since i was with the same partner for 5 years and never had a problem before i thought he's cheating  but then i talked to my doctor and she said men are carriers of hpv and they can have it years before you see any sign of it so he wasn't cheating but now 10 years later I'm clear of it they did a biopsy it wasn't cancerous it still showed signs for a few years then it just disappeared that's what the doctor said would happen she didn't seem concerned so i wasn't

I was told I had hpv in 2009 during my first pregnancy amd the cells appeared pre-cancerous.  I had a biopsy after my daughter was born and thank god it all went away on its own. I'm now 38 weeks pregnant with my 2nd and hpv has not even been brought up. It's with my same ob from my first pregnancy so idk why they haven't even brought it up this time :(

It's okay, I have hpv too so that's why they're gonna do a c section. They said you can still do vaginal but to keep my baby safe I do not mind a cesarean. I was told I needed another colpo in February before I got pregnant but I didn't do it. I'll wait till after my baby comes to see how it's going, I was diagnosed maybe a year and a half ago.

Abnormal cells doesn't mean cancer everytime.  Mine was just needing clean up since my first baby doctor didn't clean me out after my first born 9 years ago.

I had a papsmear  last December and was told I had abnormal cells,  and they scheduled a date for surgery,  I won't lie it does hurt to do surgery and takes a week to heal,  but everything turned out OK,  but got pregnant on wedding night in May got  checked by doctor 3 weeks ago says its healed through recent papsmear . Most cases its not as bad as it sounds I freaked out by hearing of abnormal cells,  just means they wanna be cautious and make sure nothing bad forms,  just to keep you safe. :-)

I was told in March I was HPV positive. I've never had an outbreak either and was shocked. Actually I wasn't "told", a letter came in the mail saying my pap was normal but HPV positive. My ob didn't say anything about it when I had a pap with her a few weeks ago. Just another letter saying my pap was normal. I'll mention it at my appointment next week but would really hate to be tested again. If your baby does happen to get HPV through birth, their bodies will rid it on their own.

Yea, try not to freak out.  Gov usually clears up on its own.  Sometimes tho it comes back and u have to get retested.  But usually it goes away.  It's only when it keeps coming back that it's annoying to treat.  I've tested positive and it resolved on its own.  My last pap at 7wks was normal.  Try not to worry..

I was told i had hpv after my daughter was born in 2011. i have to have more testing one before im 17 weeks. It doesn't usually take that long and will only hurt a little bit if they do s biopsy.  Good luck ladies.

It is not uncommon for women to find out the are carriers of hpv during pregnancy. It doesn't mean any risk to the mom necessarily. It just might mean that they will have to watch the delivery process more closely. You and baby should be fine, try not to think the worse.
