Today I went to the wic and they showed me a breastfeeding video ,well I almost cried lol. I don't know what came over me! One minute I'm there trying to pay attention to the video next thing you know I'm trying to hold back the tears and emotion. I need to carry napkins around for the tears.  Who else?

Aww picky baby. Well at least you tried. My first wouldn't take breast either but I pumped as much as I could and bottle fed him. He didn't like certain nipples either , only the clear nipple bottles he would accept. They come knowing what they want I guess lol

@lizziecampos yes I tried pumping / it in the bottle gave my baby time to take it from bottle cause they said if baby is truely hungry they will take it from bottle my first son never would and I was not gonna let my baby go without food for days and so on that's what would of happen cause nor would he latch on to my breast or the second the bottle hit his mouth  with breast milk he would take his latch off the nipple and would notblatxh back on to bottle nipple I switched to formula put little on my hand and he latched my finger like it was nothing he just preferred formula over breast milk .

@bandm07 just tell them you will be doing both. If you say you will be doing both they still give you half of the formula from what a bottle feeding child would get and they won't cut your food as much as they will if you say you are fully bottle feeding.

@ secondlastone0914  I understand workwise and all I will be doing both , bottle and breast bc I really need to work after baby is born as well. Have you tried a breast pump? With two of my kids I did the bottle and breast feeding and at work I would just go pump on breaks. I also played that game the last time I was there but it was only me in class and it did feel very weird but I passed mostly all lol.

I am on wic and i plan on breastfeeding, however im telling them i wont be, just because it might be hard to switch to formula once i say im breastfeeding... plus im not sure how long i can breastfeed.

I am not breastfeeding due to gonna go back to work and baby not being able to be in workplace plus my first son I tried he would never latch on nor would he take breast milk front the bottle so I had to switch and did formula not that I don't want to  this time but my work is not bf friendly /baby friendly nor has a daycare on site and it's a good paying job I am going back to I quit due to not being able to do the physical labor once I hit 7 months but he is rehiring me after my six week medical release. My wic office did not do a video but they did a game called myth or facts about breast feeding she passed out peices of paper with questions about bf and u and everyone else answered yes no or it depends only me and one other girl got into the discussion with more than just giving a yes or no or it depends answer even moms whom are gonna be 1st time breastfeeders did not get into the discussion and just waited for the wic nurse to confirm if it wasa myth fact or other circumstances factored in I would of loved more lady's there to share their opinions thoughts on the qeuations .

I've seen the video on YouTube quite a few times, it's called the "Breast Crawl" and it is very amazing. I'm hoping to try it after delivery. :)

Oh wow. They haven't told me anything about that but I'm gonna call and ask tomorrow for sure. Sadly I think my closest farmers market to here is probably by LA zoo , about 10 miles away.  Maybe that's why they don't make so much fuss about it here. I would probably waste more on gas then on goodies going lol.

I live in California too, central by Fresno. They told us yesterday in the WIC class that once a year WIC will give you $20 for farmers market for all the fresh veggies and fruits! :) Are they doing that over there too?

I've breastfeed before but I didn't know babies can do that. I was in shock! It was beautiful. Yes I do live in California. Los Angeles near DT :)

I just went to that class yesterday! This is my 3rd baby but my first time breastfeeding and I never knew how the baby could find their way just by laying on your chest! I also didn't know how tiny their tummies were (the size of a marble) Do you live in California?

Hahahah I'm 33 weeks.  It was such a beautiful video!!! It shows you how babies are the leaders in breastfeeding and were only the helpers. Mommy's would just put the baby's on the chest and baby would push himself towards the breast by themselves only by sensing the skin with they're little cheeks and once they feel the nipple they latchon. Never knew that. I hope tthey do show it to you soon!

Lol I have a bunch of napkins in my purse because of that. But talking about the video, how far along are u that they showed u the video, I have an appointment on July 3rd so maybe they'll do the same
