I had to tell a few people immediately as I was about to quit my current job and take a new job which wouldn't work while I was pregnant.  We told our parent's Immediately.  I wanted to wait until 12 weeks to tell everyone else but my Mum was chomping at the bit to tell everyone (this is our 3rd baby). She had surgery/ chemo last year for bowel cancer so I wanted her to be happy and told her she could announce it, which meant hubby and I did too on FB. I'm only 8 weeks this week but everyone has been so happy and excited for us and I would much rather have people's love and support if anything bad did happen :) all comes down to personal choice....

I told my parents & inlaws as soon as I found out. Waited until 13 weeks to tell my best friends. I'm waiting until the birth of the baby to tell the rest of the world. I'm a house wife so that would be easy. Hehe

we told close family at 8 weeks... but to  makes announcements public it's common to wait until 13 weeks. that's when the the chances of "something happening" goes down a lot. I waited till 14 weeks.. 35+ now...
