Whats the difference between an anterior and a postior placenta? Mines anterior which means its in front of the baby (at 12 week scan) is this a problem?

I'm 36 weeks here and I have it too I felt small flutters every once in a while at 16 weeks. But it took till closer to 24 to 26 weeks to really feel him move now I feel him all the time ;) it did make it a little difficult to do the 3d/4d scans of the placenta in the way but that's about it no other problems

back labor has no indication of where your placenta is positioned. Back labor has to do with baby's position. If the baby is op or face up you are more likely to have back labor. Original poster: anterior placentas can make early movement harder to feel since the placenta is in the front. Otherwise it's perfectly normal. (L&D nurse)

Nothing to worry about. I have an anterior placenta. Just took me longer to feel her movements. I'm 33 weeks and she's perfectly healthy!

You may have more back labor too due to it.

Mines anterior it just means it's at the front like by your belly button so I took a bit longer to feel kicks as they are sheltered from the placenta. No problem though
