They say its a class B which means there arent any studies whether its safe or not. 16wks and have a sinus infection and I'm wondering has anyone taken a Z-pack for antibiotics and had any complications?

I guess it just makes me nervous cuz I was already on some antibiotics for BV in the beginning of the pregnancy.

I have known a few women who have taken a zpack during pregnancy and everything was fine. It's definitely better than suffering with an awful infection too! Good luck and feel better!

I took a z-pack two months ago for a double ear infection, i was 20 weeks and no problems. And i just finished a different course of antibiotics for a uti. Both meds were class b drugs. The benefits def. outweighed the risks for me. But its up to you and whatever you decide.

The z-pac is zithromax, also known as azithromycin. If you were prescribed this antibiotic, that means its already infected, so the small risk of cat. B is better than having the infection get worse and causing other complications. I know a woman who was on it twice in the same pregnancy and everything was fine with her baby. Good luck and feel better soon.

I attributed it to allergies so I let it go for too long to not take them but I hate taking meds prego or  not.

Have you tried Sudafed yet? Its approved for use during pregnancy. I would try it first and then discuss the Z-pak with your doctor before taking it.

I think that's your personal judgment call, most women are willing to take a catagory A or B. I did not take a z-pack, but I took azithromycin & it is also category B. Do the benefits outweigh the risks? You decide :-)
