any military moms here

so I'm bout to have my lil man in 2 days and my husband just dropped the ball on me that we are being restationed to Germany! In Aug! My baby will be 5 months old! Wow this is very stressful. This will be my first big move and I will have 4 kids. I've never been out of the country and I'm very nervous. I won't have any family or friends anywhere close. Are there any military wives in here that have been stationed in Germany? Any input would be appreciated!

Germany isnt too much different :) You will adjust quickly I promise! The only big difference is the Euro. Its the money they use here and it's stronger than the dollar. But you get used to the exchange rate. You will have to register to have your baby here on base but you cant do that until you get here. Its very simple and easy but you have to make sure you do it so you can get their Birth Certificate, which you need to get a passport which in turn you need to get their Social Security card :) We live off base and love it , but Ive been told by other mommies with multiple little ones that they prefer to live on base. Depending on where you live there is a wait list to live on base so you will definetly have to look into that.  :)  Also if you need to speak to a counseler for your little ones when you get here, they have a great support system!

Yeah thanks I have been researching all morning online looking at the base and schools and housing the offer. Im concerned about my kids bc their father is here in tn. It's a 3 year tour. They love their step dad but I hope they don't get depressed being away from their dad. Im going to have to put them in counseling I think. Stressed to the max!

My Husband Is In The AiR Force. When We Moved From Ohio To South DakotaWas When I Found Out I Was Pregnant. See What The Base Has To Offer. Ellsworth Has An Amazing Support System For Moms With Young Children And Offers A Ton Of Activities And Resources. You Can Check Out What That Base Has On Their Website And Even ConnecT With Wives Who Live There On Facebook Pages! Good Luck! My Brother In Law Was Stationed In England And Loved It Over There!

Yes this will be my husband second tour in Germany. He tells me I will love it, but I've never been so far away from my family which has always been a big help for me after spending so long being a single parent.
