bad teeth

I have had dental problems since i was  child. Was not shown the proper way to take care of my teeth until i hit my pre teens. I had no enamel and very soft teeth  at that and very prone to cavities. We are told that during pregnancy, our teeth literally go through a beating. I'm having a hard time eating super tender chicken because my teeth are so bad. I did not smile for years because my front ones are almost rotted out and i have been supergluing my fillings in because my insurance ***** donkey balls. My mother just got a set of dentures and rubbed them in my face when she knows how i feel about my teeth. I want to eat an apple so bad and my husband sees me cry when i have a hard time eating the foods i used to love. Sorry to make this so long but my main question is, how can i get the nutrition i need if i can't feed both me and the baby? I know i can't survive on potatoes and soft foods for the next 6 months. Any advice is welcome. I don't need criticism because i get that from dentists.

blender and food process is a great idea you can get apple sauce with no sugar added. the dentist can proscribe a tooth paste, my husband gets tons of cavities - so he has special tooth paste. we also got a sonicare tooth brush, it is very gentle.

Sweet potatoes are very health (much better than regular potatoes) and get very soft, bananas also very good. scrambled Eggs, cottage cheese, goat cheese, peahes and plums get pretty soft, kiwis, figs,

Thank you ladies. I've been on the vitamins since i found out i was preggo. Got some antibiotics from my ob today and gonna make an appointment at a dentist in the next 10 days. Heard the baby's heartbeat again today, it's a mover just like its father and growing healthy.

Definitely use Sensodyne if you aren't already.  It will help.  Also, maybe you can get a blender or a juicer and start getting your fruits and veggies that way?  Or ask your doctor if you should be supplementing with Ensure shakes or something like that?  Sensitive teeth are the worst and it only gets worse during pregnancy.  :-(

Try looking up a community action program in your town. Sometimes they have dental offices where you can go and theyll take your insurance. You can also tell your doctor about the issues your having and have them refer you to a dentist that will take your insurance.

Almond milk has more calcium than milk. It's easier for the body to absorb than dairy. (if there's not an allergy.) Just nake sure to have a good prenatal and drink lots of green smoothies. My teeth are super sensitive atm. I always use staws when drinking anything.

I'm so sorry to hear you're going through so much! Tooth pain can be the worst and make you miserable. You can try baking, boiling and puree some of your foods.eggs would give you a lot of nutrition, a lot of veggies can be steamed and are great when softened. Eggs are a good source of omega 3 fats, that's what you would get from fish, fish would be another meat that is soft and easy to eat but be careful of mercury levels. I live making a egg salad sandwich fur lunch, I want one like every other day. Oatmeal and cream of wheat would be a good source of iron for you too. I'm sorry again your going through so much and wish you the best of luck with everything. Talk to your doctor, I'm sure he or she would be able to give you more advice on what nutrients are important for you to get right now

Drink lots of milk bc the calcium will help your teeth. Also ask your doc if you can take calcium pills to help as well. Use sensodyne pro enamel and it will help tremendously with the pain in your teeth. Eat baby foods if you need to, they will have what you and baby need in them.
