blood genetic testing

Has anyone had the blood genetic testing done? My ob said it can be done at 10 weeks and it can detect genetic diseases as well as the baby's gender...opinions please?
Also, is it too expensive?

Ya I had the test done for down syndrome just to be prepaired if it came back positive. I didnt know anything about them being able to tell the sex but doctor told me we are having a girl. Test is 99% accurate.

(Sorry phone posted before I was done). You'll have to check with your doctor's office to see how much it is because I don't think insurance typically covers it. There are a couple other tests out there that do the same thing, but I have heard all different prices from different women - like up to $800+ :/ but I guess it depends on how important it is to you. Good luck!

As far as cost, it was going to be like $200 or something but we ended up not getting charged (they changed their policy or something the day we took the test, so we got lucky) but I would have happily paid the money because it was very important to us. You'll have to
