Ya I had the test done for down syndrome just to be prepaired if it came back positive. I didnt know anything about them being able to tell the sex but doctor told me we are having a girl. Test is 99% accurate.
(Sorry phone posted before I was done). You'll have to check with your doctor's office to see how much it is because I don't think insurance typically covers it. There are a couple other tests out there that do the same thing, but I have heard all different prices from different women - like up to $800+ :/ but I guess it depends on how important it is to you. I had the Panorama test done. I think it was a great test. Checks for the top chromosomal abnormalities (including down syndrome) with over 99% accuracy. They are able to take fetal DNA from your blood, so that's how it's so accurate. My doctor doesn't even recommend having the regular quad screening done because it comes up with false positives like 30% of the time. It took about 10 days to get my results. As far as cost, it was going to be like $200 or something but we ended up not getting charged (they changed their policy or something the day we took the test, so we got lucky) but I would have happily paid the money because it was very important to us.
