concerned about glucose test

This is my third pregnancy and I have never had a problem with sugar til now. Concerned about even doing my glucose test because of how sick and shakey I get from even the slightest bit of sugar. My husband is scared and so am I that something could go wrong. Has anyone had anybad reactions to the test? I was fine the fist two times just never reacted like this to any form of sugar, I was always fine just a little nauseated from it. My heart races and I feel dizzy and faint now when I have sweets. This has been my easiest pregnancy but also had some pretty different symptoms then with my previous two.

there are more serious complications from having gestational diabetes then just a big baby. i have it and it isn't  all that tough to manage with just diet and exercise. they do tell you that there are side effects with the test like anything medical you do. if your nervous  about what might happen and refuse to take the test i would suggest just asking your doctor to refer you  to a nutritionist and just monitor  your blood sugars and eat like you have gd to play it on the safe side and avoid complication for your baby. good luck whatever you decide to do. :)

I have flat out refused to this test because I don't want to be sick from it would never consume This much corn syrup  think about the effects this will have on your body not to mention the artificial flavoring and coloring that they use it is disgusting. YOU DONT HAVE TO DO ANY TEST YOU CAN SAY NO....  Be prepared for the doctor to try and scare you and saying you could have a 10 pound baby with shoulders that are broken when he comes out and all the other scary things you can think of to say but it's your choice your decision you don't have to do it.doctors use scare tactics to make you do things don't let them scare you and don't let them bully you take control of your health you pay them

Ok and I very rarely eat sugar but anytime I even have coffee (drinking decaf) with a lil bit of sugar I get sick. Thank you though.

It made me sick and gave me a terrible headache with my first 2.so I asked MY ob if there was anything else I could take she said not really(and its no worse for you than eating a candy bar or a soda).both of which I don't eat(we eat very clean). So instead of refusing to do it (and getting a non cooperative mark in my chart)I brought it home with me but did my research and drank 12oz or organic grape juice instead.test came back normal.I was even a lil concerned because I get headaches a lot of time after eating.but all is well. :)
