Gestational diabetes *****, but it's temporary I'm pretty sure. Avoid sugarry foods/ drinks and eat healthy meals. If you have a snack, have something low in carbohydrates and sugar...so like veggies. If you don't follow your diet, your baby will become quite large. Then giving birth will be more difficult. Don't panic, gestational diabetes is pretty common. Talk to your doctor or nutritionist and have them help you set up a healthy diet. Good luck, hon. I would suggest googling gestational diabetes, too, and see if you can learn something about how to handle it, just don't freak yourself out. The internet is full of people saying scary stuff.
Ive also got gestational diabetes known for afew weeks now ive been able to control it by eating healty cuting out soft drinks n juices eating 3small portion meals aday with more fibre low GI etc also two healthy snacks during the day..
Gestational diabetes normally goes away after the birth of ur baby
If u control ur levels ur baby will be healthy the drs shld be monitoring u an ur baby abit more closely now :)
I found out I have gestational diabetes last week, it is scary. My sister had it and gave birth to a healthy 7lb baby, her best friend also had ut and had a nearly 11lb baby. I'm still trying to cope with the food changes, and I have yet to see a nutritionist. I'm just hoping I can control my levels, for both mine and my baby's well being. Good luck to youand your bundle of joy :)
I'm type 1 (I was diagnosed when I was 6). It's totally doable, my daughter was born 7lbs 5oz and perfectly healthy! It's hard work but totally worth it in the end to have that beautiful healthy baby you adore! Good luck!
