This happened to me before. They ended up mailing me a check for the amount which was $300. It took a few days but I got it back. Sometimes you have to call and talk to the head hancho! The boss's boss! Anyway from what I was told, it is illegal. They'll have to give it back to you.
I work for a bank and deal with these things all the time. If you go in, most likely the person at the desk can't make the claim (you have to call) if you ever gave that company your account information then they will take when they want. NOT that that's OK, because it isn't. If you gave them permission once then that's all they got. You can make a claim and they should be able to refund you. IRS is the one where the bank has no control and they can take EVERYTHING you have. A lot of the time you can make a payment plan and they will put the money back into your account. Sorry you are dealing with this, extra stress you DON'T need.
Hope you understood my message..I meant sue not see. Lol trying a new setting on my phone with texting..sorry
I feel like the company may be lieing to you. When you dpeak with someone..ask2 speak 2 someone higher up because most of the time they can help you more.when you go to the bank tell them if they don't help you get the money back in your account I would threaten to close out the bank accountand bank with someone else because in the end the bank will want your money so they will help you. Make threats most of the time it works you gotta play them because every business wants to make the consumer happy. also the company that took your money you can always threaten to see you to take legal action against them like someone on here was saying you can go to the new the media because lawfully I don't see that as just. Hope you and your family will be ok. Praying for you.
Is this a student loan or capital one or irs only people like that I have heard of can go into your account but they mostly go for your taxesI instead. But I would dispute and raise all hell and see what that does. On that same day you should have talked to a branch manager
Physically go to your bank tomorrow and speak with someone. I would even go to the banks fraud department and tell them what happened and say you never okayed the withdrawal.
Unless the collection agency is already linked to your account and/or you filled or paperwork stating that you acknowledge the collection agency and you are going to pay off your debt to them, they can not just take money out of your account. It's illegal.
I called the company and all they said was there sorry and there's nothin they can do since i owe them money but they can't just take everything...normal agency does by ur income
I hope it works out for you. I had a similar situation with my electric company where they took 2 payments at once. Drained my acct. It was awful
I can relate. Definitely call the bank and the company.
My electric company wasnt going to help me until I started saying that I was going to contact newspapers, media, blogging and it would spread across the internet like wildfire ad when they saw my smiling face on goodmorning america they would only have themselves to blame. My exact words to them ""psnh takes working mother's last pennies and refuses to refund" hows that for a newstory?!" 2 days later, money was back in my account.
Yeah I'm callin the bank tomorrow
Unless you ok the payment they can not just take! There are federal laws in the us that protect you from this. one tried doingit to my husband and he called and told them he didn't ok the amount and fought it. our money was refunded and we never heard from them again. Also you can have your bank fight it to cause they have to have your permission to take that amount
