Try eucerin products. It's thick as heck but it really helps. I've been dealing with eczema since i was 3 ... I'm now 22
So I didn't read everyone's comments above so hopefully this helps. My son has it and I got a prescription lotion from his pediatrician that I can use twice a day plus I also use cortisone cream twice a day too. I know hard water in the bath which a lot of ppl are on will flares it up they say to use soft water if you can afford to put one in.
My daughter has it and I used Averno products and Aquafor
Averno is great, they make a special eczema wash, an oatmeal bath, and heavy moisturizing creams... Don't use lotions, look for something that's more of a thick cream or emollient it will stay on longer. When you give baths also use water just warm enough to be comfortable, if its too hot it can dry the skin and worsen the flare up.
My 7 year old son has it really bad too since he was 1 month old and what I helps him is the aveeno baby eczema therapy moisturizing cream...clears him up within a couple days when I use on him 2x daily I stand by that product only thing that could clear him up and my poor baby has scars behind his knees from it getting bad during weather change
With my daughter I would melt coconut oil in her bath about either Vaseline mixed with baby oil gel on her skin or Vaseline mixed with cetaphil in the jar. It worked well. U have to b careful cuz even unscented lotions can burn like hell on eczema. If the baby cries wen u use it id stop it probably stings. Keep up on it cuz it can get bad
Zinc also helps, I don't remember the name, but their is a cream in the adult section of the pharmacy that has zinc in it. Zinc has antibacterial and healing properties and it worked wonders when my son was younger and his arms got infected.
Ive actually used the cortizone on her. The 5% didnt seem to do anything. But all these suggestions sound awesome.
I use 100% tea tree oil for my eczema and it's amazing!
Aveeno is great for eczema. Bathe her in oatmeal I did that with my daughter and it helped. Her pediatrician also prescribed a steroid cream and that made it go away.
Hi, I'm an Esthetician and my 6yr. old son has it too. First off, don't use just any non scented lotion because if may have alcohol as a stabilizer and that will burn her raw skin. Go to the store and get Aveeno oatmeal bath and let her soak in that. Oatmeal is calming and good for moisture. Aveeno has a thick, overnight cream for infants that I find works very well applied right out of the bath. Cut her nails short so she cannot scratch as well. When he has had thick scabs, I have extremely gently scrubbed the soaked in Aveeno for awhile affected area with a sugar scrub to get the dead skin off because that itches as well. You can also put her to bed at night with it wrapped. Get plain wrap that you would wrap an ankle with, apply some petroleum jelly, wrap it and let it stay overnight. It takes diligence to keep it from turning red and irritated. I put cream on my son when it's not red because it's good for his skin anyway.
Udder balm and aquaphor really help the dry itchiness too. My doc recommended it when i had eczema.
And also I'll add my 2 year old son has it unfortunately. We use the mild cortisone cream for him, and when its bad we take him to the GP and get a stronger cream
Im not sure if it is available where you live but PawPaw ointment works well as a natural product for little ones.
My sister and myself suffer from eczema and we both have to use cortisone creams. If hers is flared up badly, you can get a mild .5% cortisone cream over the counter at the pharmacy. It should clear it up in a day or two.
hope shes cleared up soon, it a nasty thing to have :(
Use Aveeno lotion. It really helps. They also have cortisone for eczema relief. My husband has eczema and his feet get so dry and cracked. He sometimes uses diaper rash cream too. Poor baby, hope you find relief soon.
Try Aveeno products the have body wash for eczema and lotion for it as well. My daughter has a slight case of it and they've helped a lot
