drinking

Hey as of today I just found out im pregnant but Haven't been to the doctor. I only miss my period and took 4 pregnancy test, which all came back positive.  Base on my last period im about 5wks or less. I usually meet up with my girlfriends every other weekend and drink wine and talk about life. I don't want anyone to know yet until I seen a doctor. From a doctor point of view is it safe at this stage to only drink wine?

I agree with the other comments, it can also cause miscarriage so you should definitely stop. Don't mean to sound harsh but it's the truth :-)

Right now your babies neurological system is forming. Other major organs are growing as well. It is safest to avoid all alcohol during this time. They say it is "safe" to have a small glass in your third trimester.

I agree with the other ladies, you should definitely stop. Use the excuse if being on some sort of medication where you can't drink, diet, tooth pain really anything you think they would believe.

It is wise to stop drinking as soon as you find out. If you need an excuse for not drinking when with friends try the detox or diet/health kick excuse!
