Ugh me too! Got it back 4 weeks after birth like clockwork and exclusively breastfed... I also held onto weight while breastfeeding... waah. Mine was very heavy for a long time but I also got a paragard in 6 weeks postpartum and that caused it to be so heavy. Someone gave me an idea after the fact to use a baby diaper in place of a pad, and as unappealing as that is, I wish I had know because it would have been better than bleeding through everything : ( good luck! I hope your gets better!

Yep, mine was like Colleens, I breastfed for 10 mos and my period came back about a month before I weaned my son.  As soon as began tapering off the breastfeeding it returned like a normal period.  They say that ur period comes back with a vengeance, but for me it was normal 5 days and without cramps.

It can take a few cycles to get everything back to their normal size. Breast feeding will help you accomplish this faster. Good luck and Congratulations!

I exclusively breast fed my son and my period didn't return until his first birthday. When it returned it seemed the same as before and only lasted about 5 days. Every person is different, hopefully yours settles down for you!
