Yea cheesecakes are meant to be off the menu due to not being cooked...I ate them though as long as it was fresh I just made sure not to eat them after a day in the fridge...(if they lasted that long) lolz. Same rule for me with the deli meats first day ok second day not. Also soft cheeses like brie and fetas are supposed to be a no no too.

Personally id listen to my dr. Every dr is different.  My dr said deli is ok every once in a great while as long as I made sure the meat was heated to steaming, to kill bacteria.  I do not eat it though, not worth the risk to me.
I have a best friend who is due 1 day after me. Her dr is WAY more willing to let her do/eat things that mine said no to. Actually her dr said she could eat lunch meat as long as its boars head.  Makes no sense to me...it can go bad in case just as easy as the other brands.

Wait you can't have cheesecake!??!!!

Also I'm craving turkey sandwiches but have not had one yet.  It's the listeria which is a bacteria that can be on deli meat.  You can also find it in other things.  It's just a matter of luck,  age of the meat And cleanliness.

If your ask the makers to microwave the meat and let it cool you will be fine.

HAVE ONE!!!!! I ate deli meats and even cheesecakes through my 3 healthy pregnancies as long as it was fresh the only thing I avoided was shellfish. Don't deprive yourself if you're craving it soooo bad your baby wants it!

I eat a Port of Sub's turkey sandwich about every 2 or 3 weeks... Mayonnaise & all! I think it's fine. I think gillj is right... our parents had way less restrictions & we all turned out fine. I think the world may be a little too cautious these days. Have a sub!!

Jersey mikes tastes like road kill. Go to Primo or Lee's or anywhere else. Who calls it a sub anyway? It's a hoagie.

I guess I have never heard about deli meat before. I'm on baby #4 and eat deli meat often.

My obgyn actually told me that, contrary to popular belief, lunchmeats are safe during pregnancy as long as they go straight from the fridge to your mouth. If you're worried, you could get it heated or toasted, but I'm 14 weeks, have had 2 or 3 subs, and my baby's perfectly healthy.

Get it toasted but to be honest with you. I eat subs and lunch meat. I get more boars head or publix.

I've had several items with deli meat. I think back to when our parents were pregnant and they didn't have these restrictions. I don't eat it all the time, but I do enjoy a turkey sandwich every now and then!
