In 2010 they had similac bugs in the formula which is when I had my first so I won't use that enfamil is really good they have different kinds my daughter had to have enfamile a.r. which has rice in it to help her because she had acid reflux. I plan on using enfamil with my son but everyone has their own opinion this is just mine :)

I wasn't given that opportunity my daughter was in the nicu for 11 days and they just kept her on the blue! I hope to have a way different experience this time around!  Not sure how the real experience goes my sister gave her son the blue the entire time in the hospital and he had to be changed also maybe it depends on the hospital? ?

I breastfed in the beginning but my milk dried up both times. We started with similac advanced. But neither could hold it down. My first son went on the similac sensitive for fussiness & gas. It helped him a lot. My second son couldn't use that kind. He had to have Alimentum. Which is 30.00 a can! So expensive. But it's what worked and helped him.

I am hoping to breastfeed our 3rd son, too. Hopefully longer than the first two. But if my milk dries up, we will probably go with Gerber.

Mommubrandyozuna that would be the Allimentum! And yes it smells terrible. (Going in and coming out) lol... Also hospitals tend to rotate on a quarterly schedule between brands. Most babies do tolerate it well and if there are any issues the hospital staff and your pediatrician will help you find a good one for your baby

Similac blue can is usually what they will start in the hospital. .. but u will find out if the baby can tolerate it! My daughter had a protein allergies and had to have the purple can (a lot more expensive and smells horrible) but we found out fast when there was blood in her poop and she couldn't stop throwing up! This time round I'm still going to start with the blue can and see what she can tolerate it will take a couple of weeks for u to notice and they have it for colic and fussy Ness those might be good if u baby is fussy for no real reason it might be tummy problems!

I breastfed my daughter for 6 weeks and then supplemented with Enfamil newborn and then went to Enfamil Infant... my milk dried up when she was 4 months old-- got a sinus infection and the milk went with it... I tried Similac (the blue can) before Enfamil and she didnt tolerate it... my suggestion dont buy any before she is born and see if you can samples from the pediatrician... they are your best tool to find what formula works best for your baby because each child doesnt do well on the same one. ..

Try similac advance in the blue can or enfamil in the newborn can. The liquid ready to feed is easier on their tummies in the beginning so I would try that along with a really good bottle like born free, dr browns, or playtex
