glucose levels?

I just received a message from my dr office saying my levels were high in my one hour glucose test.. I tried to call them back as soon as I got out of work but the office is closed till tomorrow. . I know that I'm going to schedule a 3hour test.. my question is what do I do until I get my next test? What food should I stay away from? What foods would be best to eat? This is my first pregnancy and I don't want to harm my baby!! Any advice will be greatly appreciated! !!

Google diabetic diet :) keep away from added sugar and watch fruit as it's full of simple sugars. You can use stevia for baking. Try to switch to wholemeal flour. Try not to overeat, even healthy carbs can be harmful when you have too much of it.

For the most part this is what we followed for our patients. Clearly this is just basic.  You'll need to check with your provider on what is recommended for your needs. It's more about portion control than cutting things out completely.  Obviously cut back if you're into sweets. Try to incorporate more fruits, vegetables and protein into your diet. Limit fruit juice to one glass daily. You'll be fine until tomorrow. Talk with doctor and see what they recommend for you.

I'm in the same boat as you just waiting for my 3 hour test now! I'm eating lots of veg, protein, grains... No morning orange juice, no afternoon chocolate fix!! Just trying to be as healthy as possible, and have added an extra 10mins to my afternoon walks. And limiting my fruit, so instead of the stawberries I'm having carrot sticks (yuck)!!
