has anyone tried pineapple?

I'm 38 weeks at midnight & almost ate a whole pineapple today, seeing if it would help speed up the process... I read that if it does even work, it can happen within the first 8-10 hours after eating it. Other stories I read said 1-2 weeks of eating it everyday (sound dumb, I don't think the pineapple had anything to do with those ones)

Did it work for anyone here? All it did for me so far is give me a sore tongue lol. I still have some time though to see if it actually does anything.

i had half a pinapple last night but got board of it.
i saw the midwife this morning and she wlnt offer me a sweep untill im 2 days overdue

I saw my doc today and he said you would prob have to sit down and eat 5 pineapples in one sitting.  He's very skeptical about pineapple.  Other than sex...nipple stimulation...membrane sweep etc. he suggested acupuncture right at 40 weeks unless the acupuncturist is okay with doing it earlier (mines not).  Unless your body is ready to go into labour I don't think anything helps at all.

I tried this with my twins,,, all it did was hurt my tongue. BUT however sex did work for me, my hubby was very unwilling as i was huge and i have to say it was unromantic and actually was done purely to get the job on the way.... So that followed by a long walk done the trick, good luck

My friend told me I would have to eat 7 whole pineapples to get enough of that enzyme lol. Oh well, I crave pineapple so it was good either way :P

I had nothing but problems with my Dr's office this whole pregnancy. I haven't been examined in about 2 months. The receptionist always said there were no appointments available for 2-3 weeks every time I called, she wouldn't even ask the Dr or midwife, just said no & even told me to go to a different clinic! First they told me I gained too much & would be obese, then said I didn't gain enough & baby would be tiny, then they said I had gestational diabetes but I don't... I just switched, this week I should have an appointment with my new clinic. So I don't know if I'm dilated at all.

Nothing worked for me i tried everything. Finally got induced at 42 weeks.. r u dialated at all?

It doesn't do anything ... I think people who had their baby after eating it just got lucky lol. I was late with both of my kids and like yourself i tried all sort, but nothing worked.....
