health insurance

Hi, I just found out I do not have health insurance. We thought it would be until the end of the month but it's already done. I wad still under my moms plan and she was laid off last month. Well I had medical assistance through the state my last pregnancy but they dropped me when she was a month old because of my fiance's income. My daughter still has medical assistance. I called to reapply because they make excpetions for pregnant women, but I was told I have to apply for my states verison of obama care. How long will it take? Is it ridiculously priced? My doc said I can come to this next visit, but they need updates on my application after that. Or whatever insurance I choose. Otherwise I have to pay 200$ up front. Each visit. Pros and cons for those who have it? My fiance has great insurance but we dont want to get married RIGHT NOW  because I need insurance, (wedding is after I have this baby). But we agreed we would if it's the best option for us. We're not having a ceremony so its not really a big deal for either of us. Any advice?

I left him off when I filed for medicaide. And I had to add him onto my case or they were going to automatically go after him for child support. But I'm not filing for my daughter and I this time just me. Plus we have the same address, and I'm too chicken. I don't know this new system. And its technically fraud.

If you're not married, and don't file income taxes together, I'd completely leave him off when filing for Obamacare even if he lives with you. Depending on your salary alone, you may be entitled to more than just health insurance. For example, I was on maternity for most of 2013, and went back to work part-time for several months. I filed my income taxes married but seperate so when they looked at my income,  they actually sent me a benefits card for me and "unborn 1" ha. I already have a 1.5yr old and she qualified for health insurance regardles. I don't need it so I made sure to call them up and let them know but they said to just keep it (strange). We are all covered under my husband's job's insurance plan which comes out to be cheaper than Obamacare but we also live in NYC so I'm just waiting for them to start taxing the freaken air with breath.

You could always do a court house weddind and a ceremony later. Thats what we did. Also if you get state insurance tjey can go after the dad for the medical expenses later. It happened to my sisters boyfriend, i guess they feel like the dad needs to be responsible for those expenses if hes in the picture. We live in kansas. It might be something you want to ask them about.

I am working but the insurance my company offers is pathetic. And over priced. I am going to apply for obamacare. And hope that works . What if it takes a long time? How will I get my prenatal care? I cant afford 200$ a visit, what if I have to go to the hospital!? Ugh this is so stressful. I guess my question ultimately is which is cheaper? obamacare or my fiances plan? I am applying now and it already asks for my everyone in my households income. Including my fiance, even though im not applying for anyone else will their income effect the cost? I know it did effect it through medicaide. Because I was dropped because if it.

Pregnancy is not a pre existing condition. If you get married today,  for example, you can immediately have your husband call up to add you to his insurance. It's considered a life change event. Additionally, if you chose to go through Obamacare...it would also be considered a lifr change event as your mother has lost her source of employment.

I work as an insurance biller and we still receive denials for pre existing conditionins. They just have to offer a plan (usually more expensive) that covers pre existing, but if that's not the plan you have then it doesn't help you much.

With the ACA I didn't think they could deny you for pre-existing conditions anymore.

Wow really? I guess Obama care is my only option then. Like I said they dont do what they used to call medical assistance anymore. They said they are in the process of transferring those who already have it to obama care, or something like that. Guess I have to apply and find out. Thank you.

But even if you got married now the pregancy won't be covered bc its now a pre existing condotion. My understanding any pregant women can get medicade through the state bc of pregacny I got it while married I was even working at tye time and our combinded income was over 5, 000 a month gross. They forced me to apply and I told them I wouldn't quilify bc we made to much. We were just going to pay cash price but we were approved. Since your not married you should get it too. Just apply at your local dhs office

Have him double check with his employer. Many employers will cover "domestic partners" meaning if you aren't married but living together.
