Haha hey wow i have an o.b. and older generations in my family too
I know it sounds weird but prop your feet up on a bucket or basket while sitting on the toilet. It helps me and I've told other pregnant women about this and they even agreed with me that it helps after they tried it lol for some reason when sitting on the toilet and your feet are about proped up about six inches off the floor it just seems to fall out. Good luck :-)
Bananas make constipation worse, they are very binding. Any other fruit is fine but you should stay away from the bananas if you are constipated
In desperate moments I've used a fleet enema. I've done it three times during my pregnancy. I'm 28 weeks. The first and third time it helped alot but the second it did nothing at all. My dr said I could take milk of magnesia as long as I didn't take it more than twice a month. The first time it worked amazing and the second and third it did nothing but the last time it worked by the next day. So I guess there is nothing that's always going to work but you could try either of those things. They say fiber helps but for me sometimes it makes it worse because if you're not drinking a TON of water it's going to turn everything in there into a giant rock. Prune juice, apple sauce, watermelon, they didn't help me at all. Probiotics either and I take them everyday. Laying on my left side right after drinking hot tea or coffee and eating something in the morning helps it move along if its in there and just not coming out. Try laying on on your left side for 30 min or so and you might start to feel things shifting in your abdomen
I have the same issue I couldn't go for days and my stomach would start to ache so badly. My doctor told me to try fleet suppository. They have been study and have no side effects to pregnancy and work pretty good to get things moving. Good luck!
Its ok for YOU to drink coffee. Do what you feel is best for your child. I am going by what I know is best, my nutritionist, OB, & older generations in my family. @raynormb
I increased my water and fruit intake... apples grapes and cantelope... I'm already a watermelon freak so it just added to it...good luck
Applesauce followed by a glass of warm water. That worked for me.
Its actually ok to drink coffee in moderation, i drink an 8 oz. cup of a light roast at least 5 days out of the week
i have the same problem.. ive tried watermelon, banana, oatmeal, apples and even papaya.. but nothing really helps.. i dont wanna take medicines anymore..plus i drink plenty of water..
I have to use extra fiber powder in my yogurt and eat an apple a day to stay regular.
Try a tablespoon of light corn syrup dissolved into about a cup of warm water, my oldest has chromed disease and gets backed up sometimes, this usually helps her within an hour. Just loosens it up no diarrhea or cramping.
You shouldn't be drinking caffeinated coffee. Try prunes, oatmeal, olive oil, colace, water, bran cereals with lots of fiber and go walking.
Wholesome unprocessed foods such as bananas, oatmeal, mango, gauva, beans, apples, wheat germ. Anything with lots of fiber!
Prunes, olives and olive oil, if u can handle it a spoon full of olive oil in the morning before eating anything else.
I've been eating bran and flax seed cereal for breakfast, applesauce, watermelon, and LOTS of water, and it's helped way more than Metamucil and Colace did for me.
Try raisin...lots of it. If it doesn't work talk to your doctor.
Try lots of watermelon. If you cant find any relief call your dr and let them know and see what else you can try.
