You can hire a midwife they have enough knowledge to know when it's time for you Togo to the hospital should a problem arise. I do know of people who have had unassisted homebirths.. Meaning that there was nobody in the medical field present.. And their births have been successful.. That's not something that I would want to do.. My Hunan's and I plan to have a midwife present.. I also wanted a homebirth with our first but he was the same exact way.. But since this is our third and he had seen how I Handel labor. He is more open to the idea...I really hope he warms up to the idea of ahomebirth because I think it would be such an enjoyable experience for you guys

We have plenty of time to think about it, but my boyfriend isnt really in favor because some of the complications during birth, hes afraid the cord will get wrapped around the neck or things of that nature and not knowing that the baby is in danger, but no one in my whole family has ever thought of taking the home birth adventure but even before i was pregnant i wanted to do a home birth where can i get info to sway him lol

I posted the same question on here about a week ago.. Homebirths are becoming more and more popular.. Right now my husband and I are expecting our third child due in June. We are planning on having a homebirth this time because our other 2 children were hospital births and birth times we had less than enjoyable experiences. I want to be able to control my birthing experience.. We are going to get a birthing pool. I just think an at home water birth would be absolutely amazing.. I have also been told by many people that we know that have had homebirths that it makes the labour much less stressful being in an environment that you are familiar with.. Best of luck to you

I delivered my first med-free with a nurse midwife at a birthing center and am planning a homebirth with a midwife this time around. Taboo or not it is what I'd rather have for my family and my birth experience so I'm happy with my choice.

Many women seem to be having home births now. I am a ftm due in 7 days and having a home waterbirth :)  I took a Bradley class to help me learn how to have a natural, unmedicated birth as well and would highly recommend it!

My brother and his wife had a home birth and they said it was the best experience. But they were also very close to the hospital, so if your thinking of having a home birth make sure your close to the hospital if not go to a birthing center
