I had pictures done at the hospital but from the sounds of it they were reasonably priced. The packages started from like 20, can't remember what was in them though. Of course it's been a few years so maybe prices have changed. If price was the issue I would bring a camera, take pictures yourself, then go to a photo place and give the pictures that extra something like the name, date and both info. It would end up being pretty cheap.
Hmm I think that's expensive too. I wonder how much my hospital charges? I may be right there with you though and to save time, a headache, and frustration, I may go with the hospital. I don't know, we'll have to see though. Good luck and best wishes!
I'm a ftm, and I am definitely planning to use them.
I say this now but I'm easily convinced and i know once i see all the photos i will probably purchase them all. I'm so gullible
Packages start at $80 at my hospital and you get 4wallets, 2 5x7 and one key chain... that's like $40 sheet. I thought that was outrageous. However this is my first child so I really want to capture this very special moment. I was thinking of getting the smaller package and making the birth announcement on line or something to that effect.
When we go for our hospital tour I want to look at prices and if they are too expensive then I'll get a family member to take the pictures. Then at a later date we will take family photos. When do you have to decide if you want to use their service or not?
With my first pregnancy I worked at a portrait studio. So I ordered a 5x7 of the hospital picture for the baby book and got his pictures done at the studio when he was 2 weeks old. I pay attention to detail and like you said hospital pictures are expensive. I atleast wanted to have something of him in the hospital though so the 5x7 worked good for me.
As for this baby, I'm up in the air. My husband and are have talked about it and we are leaning towards doing the same thing again. Hope this helps.
