I have the midwife today for my 38 wk check up. Do u think if i ask i could possibly get a membrane sweep? Iv been in absolute pain for over a week now and this is 3rd day of primrose oil capsule, long walks, hot baths, and spicy curry also sex. Nothing happening and really fed up now eeeek i am huge :,(

I had one at 39+5 and I lost my plug but that's all. Now 40+1 and still very much pregnant. I have heard a lot of stories where they work but your body has to be ready for labour, it's just a final push to get things going and also some say it could just be coincidental that women go into labour because many are already at the end of pregnancy and ready to go anyway. I think if you're going to have one maybe ask closer to 39 weeks because it will more likely have a chance at being successful. I have heard that the success rate is 24%. These last few weeks are hard. Hang in there.

Also, rapsberry leaf tea is worth a try.

It works really well for some people, does nothing for others. It hurts but when you're fed up,  it's worth a go.
