Oh the 7 day is supposed to be more effective, the one and three day are also, in theory, another cause of resistance if the # of days is what is bothering you. I used to get so pissed when I was a broke teen and I could only afford the 7 day ones haha! But it turns out they are better
She probably had you switch because anti fungals such as monistat are the same idea as antibiotics when it comes to causing the yeast to evolve resistence. I would check too... I'm not fond of the cdc or fda to begin with but I constantly see doctors going against those agencies recomendations! I am glad you pointed that out shanlori! To be honest, I used to get yeast infections fairly often, but i treated with a tampon soaked in plain yogurt and it was so relieving topically and I have not had either infection since (that was 5 years ago). I read the plain yogurt treats both Bc it provides benificial bacteria to bring down both yeast and bacteria colonies which have overgrown.
According to the FDA long term use during pregnancy causes birth defects. It's recommend no more than 150mg only once. Make sure you read the risks associated with drugs before you question your doctor. Monistat 7 is in a different group than dilfucan.
I'm only 7w4d and when I saw my ob last week she cultured me and told me today that I have a bacterial and yeast infection. Typically I can tell, this time I had no idea. She has me on metronidazole tablets for the bv, and gyne-lotrimin for the yi. I've always done monistat in the past, I don't know why she changed it this time...
I couldn't understand why they won't give it to me it's so much easier now a days I told them I wasn't even sure if I had one I'd like to think they'd atleast want to see you first
Yes. I had to take it for 3 days.
