just on NBC news

I just seen on NBC news that doctors have discovered a link between children with ADHD and mothers who took Acetaminophen (Tylenol) while pregnant.

I saw that too!   But I did also hear them say it was studied on women who took it a lot thru any trimester.   They probably had a chronic pain.  I took it once in a while with both my sons for occasional head aches, and neither one have adhd, so I'm sure all you moms are fine.  It is interesting though.  That's why I try not to take anything unless I have too.

I bet they say it was linked because all pregnant women will most likely take Tylenol, and kids who have ADHD were in mommy's tummy at one time. It is phoney, ignore it!

It didn't say it was the only cause of ADHD just that they've found a link. Something causes the disorders and I think it's good they're trying to find out what could be possible causes. I've also read ADHD is hereditary so there's that too.

Had a Dr tell me if it wasn't on the market for 5+ years don't take it- you're the experiment. Tylenol... been around?? Idk what to say except under researched/tested for long term effects...

I dont know about that... I never took Tylenol with my first baby and he has ADHD, Autism,  SPD, and a number of other disorders.  The fact is they really dont know what causes these disorders.  The child is just plain born that way.

It didn't really say how much you have to take or how often before it affects baby. I've used it for the occasional headache in every pregnancy and none of my kids have ADHD but it's still good to know any possible effects so you can decide if you really need that pill or if you can suffer it out until your pain goes away.

Im 9w2d and so far I have not taken any medications, even when my back hurts like hell or im nauseous. I dont plan on taking any meds throughout my pregnancy, unless im on the floor with pain which should not happen. I just have a personal thing against meds, no matter how safe the FDA says it is for pregnancy, ANY drug you put in your body will have some type of short-term or long-term affect on the fetus. I just try to toughen up and stick it out no matter how sick I'm feeling.

Reasons why I don't take medicine. Even when not pregnant. Drives my husband nuts. But the FDA will approve something and then they pull it off the shelf. Hard to trust anything anymore.

How odd, I wonder what the Tylenol could be doing to affect the little ones like that.
And of course this comes out after I've spent a full day trying not to go crazy on Tylenol with a possible wisdom tooth infection. Sigh.
Thanks for posting.
