Im sorry but it really cracks me up that this is a confusing topic. Lol
Lol. Yep you only carry your baby 9 calendar months. 40 weeks starts before you have concieved. And 4 weeks doesn't always equal a month. In fact, it only does so in Feb.
Of corse thought thats if you count it by calendar months like temenuga stated
Lol so if 40 weeks is ten months a year wld have like 13 months and a day since a year has about 52 weeks its commen sense that 40weeks DOES NOT equal 10 months that wld only be accurate if every month consisted of 28days lol
Every month (except Feb of course) has 4 weeks plus 2/3 days. So to go through 9 months of the year takes about 38-39 weeks. So in that sense you're only pregnant for nine months of the year.
I totally didnt notice till now thnks! I didnt really payed attention
I feel like some women are never really told much about pregnancy or birth. A friend of mine was 20 when she had her daughter and was baffled about the 10 month thing and again during her birth because she pushed her daughter out then a few minutes later told her to push again (for the placenta) and she started screaming to leave it in because no one told her it was twins!!! I was never so shocked in my life and so were the drs and nurses
It's funny bcuz with my 1st when I found that out I felt like I have been lied to my entire life. Pregnancy is 10 months. U give me a due date that begins my 10th month, than tell me O & if there's no complications we will let u stay pregnant 2 more weeks into that 10th month. ;-)
yes definitely ten months..38 weeks is full term but they give two more weeks if the baby do not break your water. That's why a lot of women get induced
They might have got confused based on the way it was calculated. It is 10 months if u r calculating the lunar months (one lunar month is 4 weeks) and it is full 9 months if u r calculating xalendar months ( sometimea 4 sometimes 5 weeks depends on the month)..all that if calculated from ur last period.
Well you carry for approx 38 weeks, as they start your gestational count from roughly the first day of your last period, so you are yet to concieve, it takes about two weeks to bring you to ovulation. But yes, like the other lady commented, I thought most would be aware its a 40 count. Even says it on this very app hehe x
I just had to get it out there some ladies on another post were arguing about it.
I think we all know that 40 weeks is 10 mths. Lol thanks tho
