left leg pain

I've been having constant left leg pain in my calf and behind my knee. The only time it doesn't throb is when I lay down with my leg elevated. But standing and walking has become unbearable. The calf gets swollen and is painful to the touch. This is only my left leg though; my right leg/feet doesn't even get swollen. I'm just about 16 weeks pregnant. I saw my primary doctor on Monday and he sent me for ultrasound of the leg to check for blood clots. The test came back negative. Now he recommends a follow up with my OB. Just want to know if anyone else has experienced this. I looked my symptoms up online and there's such a wide range of causes...

hope you find some relief soon! It sounds like sciatica- there are some helpful stretches and yoga moves that can help and will strengthen your back.

I get the pain in my right leg, hip, and back. My doc sent me to physical therapy where they determined my little one was resting on my sciatic nerve. Ask your ob about the possibility.

Lay on the floor or bed and get someone to stretch your leg by having your leg 90 degrees and straight a day then push down on your toes. Or a massage of your calf and foot. My husband does it for me and I really feel better. He does it every few days.

I get pain in my right leg, and lower back, it is very painful, but both of my feet swell up, Im 38 weeks, ill be 39 weeks tomorrow, it could be that your body isgoing tthrough changes and the pain and swelling could be a part of it, hopefully it will go away for you, and I hope the rest of your pregnancy gets better

Dehydration is the most common, keep hydrated while you elevate your leg
