monistat 3? Help.

So I have a yeast infection and my doctor told me to use monistat 3 or 5 but at the store they only had the 3 so I just bought that.  Well now I'm hearing conflicting things about using monistat 3 while pregnant because it's  a category c. Anyone else use this and was it Ok?  I'm a little nervous now.

Hey girl! I have used Monistat (the one ovule) and that was approved for me and worked, I was pretty early on when I used that. But just at week 36 so two weeks ago I had another one so my Doc gave me diflucan and it was great. I had done research on it and thought it was better to steer clear from it but she prescribed it with no worries and everything is fine. I'd call your doc again especially if you're experiencing side effects like that. Keep us posted! :)

Yea I've never used monistat before so I'm not sure if its normal to burn, just wanted to offer a natural remedy.. I'm not sure about boric acid/ acodopholis when pregnant but I know when I worked at a compounding pharmacy that was standard for yeast infections +vaginally insertion+ no side effects because its essentially naturally derived, ask your doctor about it if you need abothee medication :)

I got a yeast Infection about 2 months ago,was not comfortable taking any OTC medication so I researched it and although its uncomfortable a yeast infection isn't harmful to the baby and usually goes away on its own. I ate 2-3 servings of plain Greek yogurt (to put good bacteria back into my body) and took probiotics. It was gone in a few days. I'm no doctor if course but that's my experience. Soaking in a bath with Apple cider vinegar helps also, I know some people that put yogurt actually inside them self's on a swab, or use boric acid/acodopholis capsules internally. Not my thing but look into probiotics ams definitely eat yogurt to replenish the good bacteria.

Omg k so I used one and when I went pee it started burning the outside. . It was very uncomfortable.  I sucked it up for awhile but finally I couldn't handle it anymore. . So I washed it off with cold water and it feels so much better!  I really don't think I wanna use it anymore! Has this happened to anyone else??? Did I have a reaction to it maybe?

Hope you do too! I've been prescribed tons of stuff and it just isn't working so now I'm using over the counter stuff but it's still irritating and not much better. Those ovules should clear your issue up right away though but they suck to use.

I have one on my skin rather than internally and they given me tons of different things but nothing is working!!!!! I'm going nuts!!!!! It's my inner thighs and the exterior of the other. Lol! Tmi but this has gotta go and I don't know how to make it go away. Any suggestions? Anyways, answer to your question, with my first, they said they can linger so I was told to use two of the three day monistat ones. That was fine, baby was fine! That was in the very beginning of my pregnancy too. I would just use them asap so it's over with. I know I can't wait until this irritation is finally gone!!!!! I've never had one like this EVER and I hope none of you get it, it's so annoying!!!

I had a yeast infection and want quite sure what it was but got worried cause 2 friends that are both nurses and both married to Dr's told me it can send you into preterm labor if you don't catch it in time,  so I went to the er and they gave me one diflucan pill that is only good once during pregnancy and used vagisil wipes,  but when I called they never mentioned monistat maybe I was to far along when I had it to use it bit that's what they told me
