Delivery Method

I am curious what kind of birthing methods everyone is planning on attempting or have used in the past.

I had a c-section with my first so the idea of a vag delivery is completely new to me.

I have been reading a lot about water births, or using a birthing bar instead of being on my back foe labor. Anyone else?

Also what about an epidural?

Thanks!

I too had a water birth with number 1, wasn't really expecting to buy landed lucky in a birthing suite at the hospital. It worked really well as it lifted all the weight from me (had a huge bump and baby was 8 11!) Gas and air all the way!! Would like to do the same this time around, the concept of someone putting a needle in my spine scares the absolute bejesus out of me, so an epidural would be a nightmare! Fingers crossed for smooth births all round, and whatever you opt for will be right for you at the time - you can't preempt what'll happen on the day.

I am really disappointed. I found out yesterday my hospital does not offer water births. The best they do is a shower.

I had an emergency section with my first and plan a vbac this time. I don't plan to have an epidural. I didn't have one last time, with 12 hours of natural induction labor, I think k if I go into labor on my own I can do it. People around me say that natural labor is less intense than indused. That's my plan.

I'm due 30th August but Doctor already said the baby will come early! It could be any time now. I'm on bed rest to try keep her in as much as I can :)

When are you due?

Christmas Day. I am in the beginning stages of my planning.

Birthing pools are great for dilation. With my first I spent over and hour in warm water and I dilated from a 4 to a 6 without even noticing. My bp was very low and I was feeling lightheaded so I had to come out, then got epidural which was great. Low dose so I could feel painless contraction and could move my legs.

I am planning the same for this delivery. I am hoping to be in the pool for a bit longer and come out with 10 dilation. And pushing the baby out with no pain meds at all. We'll see how it turns out in the end!

I'm planning on being on all fours it should help with pushing bubbs out, because of our natural curve of our bodies..
Im also planning on being in the water too, meant to be more calming and help with contractions..
Attempting drug free..

I would also like to attempt a drug free water birth. Asking my ob tomorrow if they have birthing tubs available at the hospital.

I had a C section with my 1st and have just went ahead and scheduled another with this pregnancy also. I like the idea of knowing the time and date of delivery and what to expect.
