multiple baby brands

I bought baby lotion, body/hair wash, oil, diaper rash cream, diapers, etc of various brands like Johnson Johnson, Bübchen, Chicco, and a few others. I thought after trying each brand once, I'll know which one suits my baby best.

now I'm being told to stick with only one brand, because baby may develop rashes or allergies if I switch between brands.

so, if I were to start with Johnson's and it works well, I should stick with it and not change to a different brand for no reason. but then all other branded stuff I bought would be wasted?!

what do you think ... what's your experience?

Yes start with one brand and if it works stick with it. Whoever told you about switching brands/chemicals like that is correct. After you find your brand that works try selling on craigslist maybe? Or donating?

Yes I would stick with one because it switching up like that ur baby could be allergic and if you've used multiple u wouldn't know which caused the rash if one occurs. And switching can irritate the skin. I have always used Johnson and Johnson on my two girls and will use it this time around as well. Works great keeps there skin baby soft and they have great smells. I wouldn't use anyrhing else :)

No that is not true, switching does not cause the allergies or rashes. They want you to stick with one because if your baby has an allergy and you use different stuff you may not be able to identify.

Just like starting solids you start with one and add a new food each week or more.

I would stick to one that you like as long as it doesnt cause any rashes or irritation. You can switch when they get a bit older if the dont seem to have sensitive skin.  I personally try to avoid Johnsons baby stuff as much as i can. Google them.  They do animal testing and there are nasty ingredients in some stuff. I was using the green minty one when my girl had a cold and i couldnt figure out why she had burn like rashes on her skin. Turns out it was that bubble bath.  I like the Burts Bees line. I dont mind spending a bit more money to use better products on my babies! To each his own! Good luck!

Yea I'm with @schenner2 I don't use Johnson &Johnson either anymore.... the shampoo actually does more harm than good for a babies hair and my kids have sensitive skin like me and I used that lotion on my face one day and it burned so bad had my face so red after washing it off immediately. That's when I decided it can be good in babies skin....Burt's bee's, honest, and aveeno baby are good, gentle baby products in my experience....
