nasal spray?

I just read a terrifying article about pregnant women using nasal spray in their first 3 months of pregnancy. It said it cause heart and stomach defects. I used it off and on almost my entire first 6 weeks before I found out I was pregnant. Anybody else out there know anything?

I used a prescription nasal spray stronger than afrin and my one month old is healthy and happy. :) I used it during most of my pregnancy.

Yummm.....Afrin!  I think drinking it would qualify for that one show with the crazy addictions!

I used afrin through my whole first trimister and im now 30 weeks and boy just had an ultrasound and is perfectly happy and healthy!

By my little app thing, Afrin is safe in moderation. The biggest risk it posses is it is one that causes blood vessels shrink. So I think,  unless you were drinking it, lol, you should be fine. :)

Thank you ladies! It was Afrin. I didn't know I was pregnant because during pregnancy I avoid all medication. Thank you !

For each of those articles, I found another that said it was fine in moderation. I used it because my allergies were awful and didnt want take meds, esp since benadryl just knocks me out! As far as I gathered, the pure saline solution to help with those nasal membranes is just fine. I wouldnt worry too much aboutit.

It is really about the type of spray. If it was the kind that is just plain saline solution, there shouldn't be an issue. :) And if we read the same article, I think they mainly were talking about daily basis use.
