nervous about going into labor

I'm 37 weeks and 4 days and I'm afraid to go into labor, but the odd thing is I want an all natural birth, no epi.  Any advice?

Absolutely agree with azulita35. Go with the flow. I was lucky and had fast labours...but only when I went into labour naturally. When I was induced it was long and very painful! My point was not so much about delivering a baby drug free as going into labour drug free.

You'll know when it's real labour...it's too hard to describe, but those tightenings are ramped up, you'll definitely know :)

This is my 3rd baby, the first one did not hurt a lot and i could handle all natural, she was born fast in 3 hours, the second one a different story i have around 28 hours of pain that i could not handle, but they in mexico did not offer any pain relief unless you are having to have a c section, this time i plan to go with the flow, of course if i can handle the pain and progressing fast i will go natural wich is the best, but if it is taking a lot of time and a lot of pain i will go with the epildural, just not marry any ideas and go with what your body tell you, no body won a medal for going natural.

Natural labour is wonderful, no denying it hurts, but I swear it was worse when it was induced. I even had my 3rd baby at home! Don't be scared, it's the best feeling EVER to do it naturally :)

(Not that i want to take away from anyone who chooses to do it differently, that's just my own experiences)

This is my first pregnancy I'm 26 weeks no where as close to labor as you guys... I'm really scared for the past couple nights I haven't been able to sleep because the fear of the upcoming labor... on top of that I have a serious fear of needles... I don't know what I've gotten myself into... praying for strength and a fast labor but don't feel I will be that lucky.

It's ok! I'm preg. With my 2nd and I remember everything about labor! Lol. I'll be getting induced this Tuesday and I can't sleep just thinking and thinking! I'd love to have an all natural birth but who knows! With my first I gave in to the epidural at 8cm!  So let's see how this turns out since I also get back labor:/

With my first bb i also wanted a natural birth but i gave in for the epadiral but its not as bad as it is cuz ur body knows what to do so just go with the flow, with my second bb i cried for an epadural n couldn't get one cuz he came too quick so with this one im gonna try to go without the epadiral but we'll see what happens good luck momma

I felt like with my first that all the anticipation and being so scared made the real experience less painful lol i too wanted a natural birth but ended up with an epidural but I didn't get it until I was 8cm dilated so I could feel some of what was going on.. I'll tell you the contractions i had just felt like period cramps from hell but because I know I made it to 8cm last time, I do not want an epidural this time. Labor goes faster without an epidural and, for me, the best feeling was when I started pushing because they kept telling me to wait because I needed to be 100% effaced to push and it felt like I was holding this big thing in me that just wanted to come out (probably because I was haha) you'll do great! I realized not everything will go as planned but you just go with the flow and no matter what seeing you're baby will completely take away anything felt from labor! Good luck! :)
