new ob.

So I'm 37+1 and my ob just reffered me to another ob that's closer to the hospital I'm giving birth at. They will decide if and when they will induce me. My belly is measuring 42wks (mind you I'm plus size) and at 36wks baby was measuring 8lbs. I'm nervous ftm. I don't really know what to think.

I've heard that the chances of c section go up if you're induced. :-\  but I don't know.

I'm plus size and I have to be induced due to gestational hypertension. I'm nervous too but I have not heard many negatives. I just don't want a c-section.

Thank you ladies. All of my friends think its a big mistake to get induced and they aren't really making me feel good about it.

It's really not bad being induced. I was with my first. The contractions are stronger, I can tell you that because my second was all natural. This one will be all natural as well. I've already told my husband and the Dr's I don't want drugs until I go in to get my tube burned, tied, and removed

'I see alot of ftms nervous, actually-even having one already there is still that little "oh goodness, I really have to do this!?!" feeling. Lol. Getting a big baby out through a little opening is scary.
But remember- Women are built for this, babies are born everyday and since the beginning of time- if the other moms can/have/will do it, so can you.

Don't panic, measurements like that are usually over estimated (I'm plus size too and they like to make you feel bad about it). My midwife had sent me for a scan and stuff in my second pregnancy and it was all fine. Even if baby is a little on the large size they might just want to induce you a bit earlier incase you struggle to push him/her out after a couple more weeks of fat building.
