depression in 2nd trimester. Experiences?

My Dr. put me on a low dose (25 mg) of Zoloft today. We decided that the benefits outweight the slight chance of risks. I am extremely depressed. I have anxiety like it's my job as well. I've been so down that some days all I can do is care for my two kids ...and make it through the day. I need help. I've had insomnia,  I cry all the time at nothing, I get very easily annoyed and I take a while to calm down. Anyone experience this? Anyone take antidepressant meds while pregnant?

You should probably look up zoloft because I was on it two years ago and I stopped it immediately when I saw a commercial on TV that it could cause birth defects in your unborn child. I live in Jamestown ny. Me and my boyfriend were trying to conceive and I didn't want to chance taking it when I did get pregnant. I'd talk to your doctor.

I have anxiety as well but I did the natural route before pregnancy the doctor told me to stop the natural until I have the baby. I dont know how bad your depression is, but look for natural ways like I heard sun light helps try to see if you can take a low dose sleep aid, because I was having that issue too not sleep that will cause more of a depression.

You will get through. This whole pregnancy I got about for anxiety attacks being under stress but over all it wasnt too bad.

I wish you well try and see a natural route :-)

I'm getting weened off of Prozac. I'm noticing the affects. I'm so worried I won't be able to be without the meds and be happy. I'm also bring taken off xanax for anxiety. It's so hard. You're not alone!!

I battle with it. Im trying to avoid medicine. Some days are better than others! Hang in there! If meds help then don't worry if you feel you and Dr made an informed decision. :-)
