physical activity.

so I'm 5 weeks pregnant,  and I'm on a volleyball team for about the next 5 weeks.. I asked my doctor and he said it's fine as long as I'm careful of my tummy area because it's good to stay active. I feel nervous to keep playing because of the jumping and running around. of course I'm not going to be diving on the floor and such, but what are you thoughts about this? I've heard both ways, and I don't want to risk anything.

I think it's fine. I am a snowboarder and my doc said even snowboarding was ok until 12 weeks when baby comes up out of pelvis. He's protected right now by ur pelvic bones.  So I snowboarder until 12 weeks... I'm 32 now and still run, hike, do insanity videos.   Doc says it's fine and healthy and long as I'm tolerating it well. I've had a very easy pregnancy so far and I attribute alot of that to staying and time from day one (and definitely some luck too!) Hahaha.  I'm sure whatever u choose will b the right choice for u!

I wouldn't do volleyball mama, think about the jumping, the strains you can accidentally get hit...is dangerous the same way they forbid football, contact sports, horse ridding they do the same with volley. Remember relaxing is starting to work in your body and if not payed attention you can harm yourself while doing strenouss sports!!! Do some walking, ciclyng, swiming and some light aerobic...yoga!!! Take care and enjoy pregnancy.

Swimming is actually the best exercise during pregnancy. If you don't want to risk it, I know I wouldn't want to, I would consider other activities.

Its good to stay active like walking and aerobics. But, volleyball its such a active sport, you don't want to fall on your belly. I wouldn't but thats my opinion. Be careful, good luck to you:)
