pregnant with 2nd child & scared to death with previous health problems

Hello all. I have a son who is almost 11 yrs old by my ex husband. I just found out, at 33 yrs old, that I'm pregnant by my current boyfriend. All of that sounds relatively normal. Here's what scares the hell out of me. In Dec 2013 when I was still married I had a horrible near death experience. I was unhappy & drank straight alcohol, rum tequila vodka, to hide it. This went on for a couple of yrs. One morning I woke up unable to move without blacking out. My dad rushed me to the ER where I was admitted for loss of blood. My esophagus was bleeding into my stomach & I almost bled to death, literally. I was told that my body is very fragile. If I start to bleed again, I may not be able to be saved. Acid reflux could trigger it. Also, I have liver damage thankfully not sirrosis (?). I know this is only something my doc can help me with, but my family, boyfriend, even ex husband is really concerned about both of us surviving child birth. I guess I'm looking for an unbiased opinion on the matter. Also, it's been almost 11 yrs since I've carried a baby, & cared for a tiny newborn. Any advice from mom's with the same age gap? Thanks!!

I don't have big gaps between my kids (ages: 9, 7, 5, 1 and one on the way) and neither do I have major health problems besides depression... But I do want to say this of course you know that children are a blessing and I understand your families and friends concerns... The Lord is gonna carry you on your journey with tons of love just trust in he... I pray that you keep health and have a beautiful inside and out healthy baby...

I found out I was pregnant with my second baby, 2 weeks before my 34th bday and my first is 11 years old. I have high blood pressure and gestionsal (sp) diabetes. I know my daughter will be a great big sister because she is beyond the moon about the new baby. Just ask your first born to help you and make sure you try your  best to include them in everything. Pray and ask God for protection against everything else. Good luck!

Hey, I don't have the age gap as you as my daughter is 4 years old and iam due in 3 weeks. But I do have health problems. I have very very low blood iam anemic they informed me right away, also I have little to no iron where as I have to go for infusions for both. And when I do deliver my baby they will have to have blood ready because if I bleed just a little I could hemmarage. They told me all the risks of having the baby, but I with no hesitation kept the baby. I know with Alot of prayers I can get through this! And so can you :)

I don't have the health problems s either but my son is 8 and I am 33 weeks pregnant welcoming another boy. I wanted my kids spread out because to me it is stressful in this day in age to have them to close. I believe God will bring you thru just trust that he will. I know you are scare but remember God did not give us the spirit of fear but of power and love of a sound mind. I say this to myself when I go thru something fearful. You will be ok just from now on take it real easy, go to your appointments and ask questions. If something happens  don't take chance just go to doctor or call. Praying for you. Its gonna be alright. Keep us updated.

I do not have the health problems you've had but when I had my last son whos 9 months i had a 14 year old and an almost 13 year old at the time. Having 2 teenagers has been a tremendous help really. They are excellent big brothers. And now we are 7 weeks from welcoming a sister for all of them.
