prenatal vitamins

Hi ladies! I'm 7w4d with my second and right after I found out I started taking OTC prenatal vitamins. Two days ago I had to stop taking them due to extreme constipation to the point of pains in my side and nausea and headaches right after taking them. I tried everything to deal with the constipation but nothing really helps and when I take them my face will feel like its on fire and I get dizzy even though I always eat first. I'm concerned that not taking them could have a negative effect on the baby but I just can't keep going on with how they make me feel. My first appt isn't until the 29th so I can't get any prescribed ones yet. I'm starting to think I may be allergic to something in them, anyone else have this issue? Also I've tried taking them at different times and its always the same.

When I had trouble keeping my prenatals down, my doc recommended 2 chewable Flintstones vitamins. You'll need to supplement with folic acid. I take the ones with iron but that can cause constipation so maybe do without. Also, up your fiber intake (try benefiber or metamucil) and drink lots of water. Try Dulcoease stool softener but do not take a laxative.

If prenatal ate bothering you you can take a children's daily vitamin with DHA is very important you take some kind of vitamin. What about a multi vitamin or just folic acid by itself?  Good luck, I would like to hear about what ends up working for you!  :) ♡ ♡ ♡

Hello I am FTM,  am 18 weeks and I stopped taking my prenatals  because they make me extremely sick the DR said just eat healthy aspossible... I switched to the gummy bear prenatal but in my case it caused more nausea and it felt like my head was going to fall off... So try to eat a lot of greens and drink warm water about 3 tea cups evert hr that should help with constipation... Keep the warm water down sip on it like Tea.... U can slice fruit in it for taste.
