protein powder

Does anyone know anything about protein powder and whether or not its safe to keep drinking?  Doctor wont answer questions till my first appointment :( just found out im about 5 weeks pregnant.

I struggle with getting enough protein because I don't like chicken etc right now so Dr said it was fine but like others said I would hold off until you check with yours

Ensure is a little different than say whey or casein protein powder such as those used for muscle building. Ensure is very safe and a great way to get all the nutrients you need.

I drink ensure I think some of them are safe to drink

I wouldn't continue with it, at least not until you see your Dr. Your kidneys are under enough stress while your pregnant the last thing they need is all that extra protein.
