pumping not breastfeeding...

Ok so with my first Pregnancy my drs told me that one of my breasts was underdeveloped and wouldn't produce milk so we went straight to bottle. Three days later I had milk in both breasts!!! I tried but my daughter wouldn't latch after that long. I'm very interested in breastfeeding with this baby but my daughter is 3 now and my sister breastfeeds my niece and my daughter literally freaks out... gets mad... tries to breastfeed off of anyone with breasts and has nightmares.I talked to her pedi and he said some kids just get too confused about it. So my question is...is it possible to pump from the beginning? My friend has pumped in front of her and she never said a word past what are you doing. I'd really love to get my son some breast milk I just don't know if anyone has tried this way

I started pumping as soon as I got home from the hospital. Easier cause I new how much the baby was actually eating too. And im doing the same thing this time around too. It nice pumping because when you need a little break daddy or a friend/family member can feed for you while you get a little rest. :)

My son wouldnt latch on so i pumped instead. U can definitely do it, u just have to pump ahead of time and the more u pump the more u produce. I was pumping every 2 hrs because thats when he drank. Usually i would feed him and then pump after that so that it was as if he was breastfeeding. Its worth a try!

I couldn't pump right away because the milk isn't all the way developed yet. U start off with clear fluid that the baby gets but it's not much that it gets. I mean, I guess u could still pump that out but don't expect much to come out in the beginning. That's why they eat so much and so often while Breastfeeding. Good luck!!
