question about groceries

Ok this is random I know. My husband gives me 50$ to groceryshop a week. That has to cocer dinners, needs, lunches, and breakfast. I never feel like I dont have enough money bc of My cravings. I shop at discount grocery stores. I buy food alot and waste it bc I just dont feel like eating it, as in it doesnt sound good. If i force myself to eat it, it doesnt taste right so i dont eat very much of it and ill struggle with being hungry later and then the cycle starts over again. These cravings are out of control. I take perscription pregnancy vitamins, whats wrong with me. What can i do to subdue the cravings and just enjoy food. And What would your grocery budget be if it was just you and your husband. Sounds lame to ***** about but it honestly its a problem.

I can't apply for wic and I won't get food stamps once the baby's born. I get my inheritance on my bday two days after my bday I'm giving birth. So I've been advised not to apply for this reason by a lawyer in my family, plus we have the extra money to spend with my husband getting minimum of
600 dollars per week. Just he's cheap and been an *** latley about my issues. Idk what his problem is or if I'm the problem, going through a rough patch with this pregnancy. But thanks for your ideas and suggestions. And things I'm craving are mainly fruit and seafood, spent 80 at the store tonight and he coughed up some extra money this week for groceries thanks to you guys posting.

I spend 150 for my husband and I a month. We eat very healthy and its doable. I shop at costco and buy lots of fresh things and keep a pantry.

As far as the cravings I feel your pain. Id splurge on something and then it wouldnt even taste good. So I just chose to try amd eat healthy since eather way it didnt taste good and I was choking it down. Turns out after a few days my cravings adjusted and its going much better.

The other thing that helped me is eating much smaller portions and way more often. For example a half a cheese stick. Or a few slices of apple. But then eat again 30 minutes later. This has helped alot.

Look up your states woman and infant program (wic) it gives you foods vital to your pregnancy like rice beans milk formula if needed fruit ect. Its free just for being prego. Most states also have emergency food boxes with veggies and stuff to stretch your dollar so you can eat those things your craving with the money you've saved.

My budget was like that before, when I was pregnant with number 2 I had a 100 every 2 weeks budget, actually up until my son was 1 1/2 then my husnsnd got a better job and we upped it.  Now I get 210 every 2 weeks for our family of 5.  How far along are you and what kind of things are you craving?  Can you freeze any of the food that is going bad so it doesnt?

I wish I knew how to curb the cravings. But I am right there with you on nothing being right. As for a budget, I have a $600 a month budget for a family of 6. Soon to be 7. That breaks down to about $100 per person per month. No way could I do this if I didn't shop like you (discount stores, sales & coupons). Good luck. Hope things get better.

I feel your pain. We are on a strict budget until my husband graduates but I never want anything we have and end up blowing through our money on random cravings. I have really bad food aversions and can only eat certain things. I am with ya sister! If you can afford it I would try to get him to give you an extra 20 so you can put aside for those cravings

Wow 50$ have you talked to your husband about this? Is this all he can afford? If you live in the US you can try applying for food stamps and wic. Cravings are part we lady's have to deal with while preg. I know I would want something for days and finally get it and then only want a bite or two, so your not alone on that part
