questions about weight after labor

Hi mommies, I'm 49 days away from my due date so I'm going through my closet and getting rid of a lot of old clothes that don't fit and who knows when I'd be able to fit in again (Before this pregnancy I weighed 106 lbs and now I'm around 140 lbs+). My question goes out to the ladies here who have had babies in the past: After giving birth,  how fast did you loose weight? Once the baby is born, you still have a belly right? Do you still fit into your maternity clothes or will it be too big and loose? And how soon will I need to buy smaller clothes? (I plan on breastfeeding and I hear that helps loose weight also) OH and, what do you recommend to wear after delivery and going home?

I breast fed and my baby was a super good eater so I lost the weight in about 12 weeks. It took another month or two though before I fit in all my old clothes, and even still the weight was distributed differently. I wore a lot of my maternity clothes those first couple months, especially the pants.

Right after baby your belly will still be swollen. It will look like your 6 months pregnant.  To go home I would suggest pjs, maternity clothes or a dress.  Asfor losing weight after it depends on the woman even when breastfeeding.  When I breastfeed I lose a chunk and then get stuck at a weight until I stop.  Some women breastfeed and drop the weight in a few weeks.

My mom exercised all throughout her pregnancies and started back up as soon as she left the hospital. By keeping fit she fit back into her pre pregnancy clothes as soon as each of us were born and there's 5 of us. Not all women are the same though. But if you keep moderately active and eat right there's no reason it can't take you 6 months or less to  lose the baby weight. :)
