repeat c section.. questions for those that have had one

I had a c section with my first baby because he was too big to fit through the birth canal. I haven't made up my mind for sure if I will try to deliver naturally or have a scheduled c section this time. I'm only 23+3 but have been thinking about it lately.  My baby was measuring 5 days ahead at my 20 week ultrasound and big babies run in the family. So my question is did it take longer to recover from a 2nd one? Do they open on the same scar from the first?

Thanks so much for your comments.  I just have been thinking about it lately and longer recovery was my biggest worry since I have a toddler too. Sounds like it doesn't take longer tho so that's good!

I had my first in 2007 and my second in 2012 yes they cut the same scar. No the healing didn't take longer and it also seemed a lot easier on my body then the first. I will have my third march 2015. Recovery was a lot easier with the second.

My first was in 2011. I feel like I bounced back from it really quickly.  I only stayed in the hospital for 2 days. I was just thinking that scar tissue healing would take longer to get back on my feet from.

I think it took me about the same length of time to heal with both of my csections. The difference was I knew what to expect with my second so I rested more and didnt try to push myself into cleaning house or doing errands like I did after my first so the healing process didnt seem no where near as painful

I too had a cesarean for same reason with first. Labored and it just wasn't happening. My little girl was also measuring about a week ahead at my 20 weeks anatomy scan lol so funny. I was going to try a vbac I was so 100% sure about it and then I stayed second guessing it and getting very anxious about everything etc so at 34 weeks my husband and I scheduled a repeat. I was so afraid she was going to end up stressed and stuck like my.first and end in cesarean again anyways etc. More so than that even it was a feeling a could not and still cannot explain but I just had weird feelings about and felt like I couldn't go through with it. Personal weird feelings I guess Idk. So I will be having a repeat dec 12. And didn't have to change my birth.plan at all! :-) still get delayed cord clamping, get vto give her her first bath hold her immediately etc. Im nervous but not dreading it like I was the vbac. Sometimes wonder if I made the right choice but im ok with it and much less stressed now.

Yes love they open up the same scar when did you have your 1st csection ? I'm on baby #4 and I'm having my 4th csection and I'm 25yrs old. My 1st took the longest to heal but the others was a piece of cake what I mean by heal as in able to move around and do things. Csection take years to completely heel.
