Possibly pregnant?

Hi Ladies,

I had my contraceptive implant out on May 3rd, I had it in in October last year.

I have been bd'ing quite frequently since I had it removed. My question is this, I have had period like symptoms for the past week but nothing's showing up, my emotions are running fairly high, I've gone off tomatoes and everything I eat leaves a weird taste in my mouth about an hour or so later. I have no idea when to test as I haven't had a period since I came off the implant. Is it just a period waiting to break through or is this possibly very early pg symptoms? I find it odd that my period hasn't arrived if it is just pms, when I was on the pill even missing one would bring my period on and I didn't have a period on the implant at all so I would've expected it to have arrived by now.

And advice would be appreciated.

Thanks and babydust to those ttc!

I had had period like symptoms for about a week. I had a period March 28 and my period tracker said I was due for period May 8. May 1 I started having crampage and breast tenderness major mood swings and grouchyness. By the 9th my symptoms went away and the 14th I hadn't started. So my birthday, yesterday I took a test and it was positive. Also made dr apt and they confirmed. Good luck to you. I would buy a 3 pack of tests and take them 5 days apart. :)

Hi,

Were not actively trying, I had the implant out on the 3rd, had sex that night and got a positive opk on the 4th or 5th, can't remember exactly when, i'm not sure if the opk was accurate as i thought it was unusual to ovulate immediately after removal, unusual but not impossible.

but going by May 3rd you would have been fertile May 10th through May 19th or 20th.

your welcome but I would try testing in about a week. if it's negative and you still haven't got your cycle retest in a couple of days or you can wait another week. since you want to catch it early. you can probably test on these days I have a chart and it says you can take an early pregnancy test anywhere from the 24th to june 3rd. I'm going by when you had your implant removed on the 3rd.. you would ovulate may 17th. but you could have ovulated before that. but I'm not a doctor and I don't want to get your hopes up..

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. My only concern is the period like symptoms but no period. Also, I fell pregnant with my son on the pill and had a miscarriage 5 years ago on the implant, so contraceptives don't always work for me.

I have a history of early term miscarriages too so if I am pregnant I want to catch is as early as possible.

Thank you

xx

some women get pregnant as soon as they come off of birth control and never have a cycle. for other women they have to wait for their cycles to get back to normal before they can try to conceive. also another thing is when you coming off of birth control it can take up to 6 months to get your cycle back. but wait to see if you get a cycle, if not I would take a pregnancy test and two or three weeks. or maybe one to two weeks. if it's negative and you still haven't gotten a cycle retest the following week.
