salt intake?

A male friend of mine told me his cousin's baby died from a blood clot. She was 8 months pregnant. My friend told me it's because his cousin ate too much salt.

Im almost 15 weeks and a first time mom. Last night i had one cheeseburger for dinner and one for lunch today. I cant eat normally because of the nausea so when i crave something and can eat it, i do. I just had a cup of soup for dinner ( from Panera, which has high salt). Im so scared that this could harm my baby. Normally i stay away from salt. This is the first day im concerned about the salt. Last saturday my doctor said my 13 week bloodwork was great. Im just very worried.

I love salt and eat a whole lot of it. I never had a problem or heard of that happening. I do not really think he knew what he was talking about. His cousin would have had to eat an extreme amount of salt and not drank nearly enough fluids and water. I would not worry about a normal amount of salt and by normal eating two cheese burgers and a cup of soup everyday with a bag of salt and vinager chips for every meal should not give enough salt to harm baby in that way. I am not saying it would be good for you and may cause problems if you eat like that for years. I assume her baby had health issues before she ate the salt.

I would not worry to much as long as you don't go crazy with salt or anything I'm sure you will be fine. You can only believe half of what you hear
