silly question

So I went to the doctors today and they said I am having contractions but I don't feel them. What do contractions feel like? FTM am I getting them confused with thinking the baby is moving?

Okay. Thanks ladies :-) I'm sure once they get stronger I will notice the difference.

Yea. It's just like cramps. And they get stronger after a while. I wasn't in much pain just very uncomfortable. I was miserable without meds...

Contractions will feel like your belly is getting very very tight off and on. It'll  tighten then relax and so on. The tightening becomes more painful as you progress in the labor. You might also feel lower back pain and cramping. Obviously  it's different for everyone but my doctor told me that should give me a general idea which is exactly what I  remember from having my son

Contraction are nothing like cramps. They are hard to explain but hurt very bad. When u are first having them u may feel uncomfortable until ur water breaks is when they feel worse. Can't explain them but they hurt like hell.

Just had my baby a week ago. Went in with contractions that I didn't know I was having, I thought it was the baby moving, which he was was moving while I was having contractions.. I thought I wouldn't know either... but you most certainly  will know when they become stronger

They told me the same thing when I went in to be induced with my first baby.  When they first hooked me up to the monitor they showed me I was having contractions but I didn't feel anything.  I was only 1 cm dialted when I went in so I think you don't feel them as much in the beginning.  I didn't start having hard contractions until they broke my water and I was at about a 4 or 5.

Another lady had that happen to her. I'm so worried it will happen to me. They say it feels like cramps.
