I'm 13 weeks and i am trying my hardest to quit smoking. Did anyone else go through this and if so how did you quit. I've cut back tremendously since I found out but I still have urges to smoke at times. I need advice!!!

Try carrying around your ultrasound pic or another pic of a newborn near your cigarettes. So every time you feel like smoking it reminds you of your baby and the LIFE LONG damage you can cause. Good luck.

I know this is hard I seen my mother struggle, but I think the best option is to just quit!! Its mind over matter and u can do it.. just know what best for u and baby at this very moment and don't give in.. when u get theburge to smoke, distract urself, go run, cook, clean, anything that will keep u from smoking. It will take time but u have alreasy cut back ao u know this is possible.

I agree that you should try your hardest to quit but you can truly tell the smokers from the non smokers in these posts, it is a lot harder than they know, I was lucky enough to be able to stop but I know it is very hard, everyone is listing all worst case scenario, if youcut down as much as you can chances are you baby is going to be absolutely fine...worry ....but don't worry to much..

I congratulate you on trying to quit. I have a few friends who didn't care to even try to quit. I quit three years ago and it was hard. It took me a year to fully quit. Good luck and God bless!

I went through this in the beginning of my pregnancy and now I have been smoke free for 5 months :-) It gets easier the further along you go. Keep strong you can do it :-)

I started by cutting back but I was lucky enough that smoking made me feel even more nauseous and sick so it deterred me from wanting to do it. I still have urges to smoke still but I remind myself that if I don't start again that I don't have to go through quitting again.

Chew gum, suck on hard candy, eat ice... its important you stop smoking though because it could cause miscarriage, stillbirth, preterm labor, low birth weight, and some birth defects.. do some of research and work with your doctor to quit

I smoked for 10 yrs and stopped as soon as I found out. I just didn't give .myself any excuses. I had a miscarriage before my daughter so I wasn't going to risk anything. If you have cut back that is good. Depending on how much you did smoke your Dr might not want you to stop completely. Just talk to your Dr and take it day by day.
