taking anxiety meds

Im currently 17 weeks pregnant and am on 4 mg of xanax im trying to cut down can this hurt my baby horribly?? Ive suffered with very sever anxiety, social anxiety etc. Advice and help please!!!!

Whatever you do don't stop taking it cold turkey. The withdrawal from that med can be dangerous. However if you taper down you should have no issues

If ur doctir gave it to u they shouldent be able to take ur baby

Thanks ladys! I plan to stop at least two months before the baby is born and see if I can handle that. I have herd horror storys of babies being taken from mothers with a substance in their system.

Talk to your doctor about only taking it as needed so you don't have to worry about detoxing the baby after there born

I have terrible anxiety as well. My Doctor explained it as, it's better for your baby for you to be calm and not have panic attacks and such. However, I'm not on that high of a dose. If you're doctor approved it, just trust that. It's very important we remain calm, even though I know it's very hard!! Hang in there.
